Rapid Recovery by Design

Joint Replacement in Portland, OR

At Center for Specialty Surgery, hip, knee, shoulder, and ankle replacement are built around rapid recovery. That includes enhanced recovery protocols and, for many patients, going home the same day.

Our Joint Replacement Program includes joint coaching through in-house physical therapy, in the same building, run by the same team, and a pain management plan designed to get you moving with less reliance on narcotic medication. For knee replacement, we also offer robotic-assisted surgery using the ROSA and VELYS systems.

If your surgeon has already scheduled your joint replacement with us, there's nothing further you need to do to confirm it. Questions before your procedure? Call us at (503) 906-4300.

  • A New Shoulder, A Faster Recovery

    Shoulder Replacement

Shoulder replacement relieves pain and restores motion for patients with severe arthritis, a complex fracture, or a shoulder joint too damaged for repair alone. Whether you need a standard or reverse shoulder replacement, our program is built around the same rapid recovery approach, with less reliance on narcotic medication, used for every joint we replace.

  • Anterior and Posterior Approaches

    Hip Replacement

Hip replacement at the Center for Specialty Surgery is available through both anterior and posterior surgical approaches, and your surgeon will recommend whichever fits your anatomy and your specific case. Many patients are walking, with assistance, the same day as their surgery.

  • Robotic Precision for Your Knee

    Knee Replacement

Knee replacement is where our robotic technology comes in. Using the ROSA and VELYS robotic systems, your surgeon creates a personalized surgical plan and uses real-time guidance to position your implant, for a total or partial knee replacement, whichever fits your condition.

  • An Alternative to Ankle Fusion

    Ankle Replacement

Ankle replacement preserves more natural motion in the joint than an ankle fusion, making it a good option for many patients with advanced ankle arthritis. Like our other joint replacement procedures, it's built around the same rapid recovery approach, with less reliance on narcotic medication.
